The Phoenix Antiques, Bottles & Collectibles originated in 1970 as the Pick & Shovel Antique Bottle Club as a non-profit. They wanted to promote an interest in old bottles as while preserving some of Arizona's past.
Regular monthly meetings were held that included programs and raffle drawings for antique bottles. In addition to that, scheduled digs in search of bottles were held around the state of Arizona. Members would assemble at a designated site - old town dumps usually and dig in search of old items, tokens, bottles and things of a historic nature.
Over time, members collecting interests changed into areas other than bottles. The members decided we should change our name to more accurately described the members collecting interests. The name was changed to The Phoenix Antiques, Bottles & Collectibles Club.
We hold monthly meetings from September thru June on the 1st Wednesday every month. Members and guest speaker will provide about a 20 minute program on their collection or Arizona's past. Guests are always welcome at our meetings.
We also hold an annual Antique Show on the last Friday & Saturday of February where club members as well as other antique dealers can set up to sell their items.
Our members collect a variety of things and most don't specialize in just 1 area.
